The Metro Church of Christ and the South Seminole Christian
Church merge. Both churches realized that together they have better potential to “Reflect
Christ and Serve Others.” This is a great example of humility and outreach to
the lost trumping over opinions and territorialism. John 17:23 May they be brought to complete unity to let the
world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. The
announcement is here.
Kudos to Metro and South Seminole for their decision.

Victor Knowles reports in the Christian Standard on cooperation between
churches of Christ and Christian Churches since the 2006 North American
Christian Convention (NACC). Victor is president of Peace On Earth
Ministries (POEM) which advocates unity within the Restoration
Movement. His observations are encouraging.

Walking Away The Christian Chronicle has published an article entitled, “Are we
losing our young people?” Lynn Stringfellow is interviewed for this
article.
The statistics quoted are staggering. “…45 percent of high school
seniors leave Churches of Christ after they leave home…” (Flavil
Yeakley). “61 percent of young adults in their 20s said that they had
attended church at some point during their teen years but had since
disengaged.” (Barna Group).
