From the Mailbag
Occasionally I receive emails about Restoration Unity progress. What follows is one such correspondence. Due to the sometimes sensitive nature of inter congregational dialogs, the names and locations have been removed.

Hi Phil,
Emailed you last year regarding queries about ICOC and COC mutual meetings and such. Seems like there have been many discussions in the US. Discussions in ##### have not really moved forward between the two group after several talks between "leaders" of the groups early last year. Any meetings and discussions are taking place in one on one areas, not "nationwide".

Lucado Steps Down

According to DallasNews.com, Max Lucado will no longer serve as senior minister of the Oak Hills Church in San Antonio. The article states,
"Citing health reasons, prolific Christian author Max Lucado is stepping aside as senior pastor of his San Antonio megachurch but plans to continue writing at least one new book each year."
The entire article is here.

Max Lucado became a controversial figure within the churches of Christ when his congregation dropped the "of Christ" from the name making it a more generic community church sounding title. His ambivalent stance on baptism and salvation has drawn the ire of many within the Restoration Movement as well.

ImageWho is Jesus and what does it take to be his follower?

Luke 9:18-27 (New International Version)
18Once when Jesus was praying in private and his disciples were with him, he asked them, "Who do the crowds say I am?" 19They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, that one of the prophets of long ago has come back to life." 20"But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?"
Peter answered, "The Christ of God."
