Baptism
Brother Wayne Jackson of the "Christian Courier" has written an article about convoluted commentaries which attempt to remove immersion from the salvation process. “Scholastic” Subterfuge talks about the lengthy explanations which are written about Acts 2:38 and similar passages in order to dissuade the reader from grasping the obvious meaning of the scripture. To many who are not familiar with the bible and have a predisposition to baptism as an "outward sign of an inward grace", it is difficult to help them weigh scriptures more gravely than the commentaries.

Tampering with the evidence
Written by Alan on 2006-11-30 08:05:40
A few years ago I bought the KJV with Strong's concordance for my pocket pc from Olive Tree. Later I discovered that Strong's concordance had been tampered with on Acts 2:38 trying to make "for" mean "because of". Of course it is not all that hard to find a legitimate Strong's concordance to confirm that this is not what he said.

Strong's concordance is the most likely source someone would go to in order to answer questions like this. It is dishonest to the extreme, to tamper with that in order to convince people of a point of view. At least they should not call it Strong's concordance any more.

Paul renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways (2 Cor 4:2). Unfortunately some alleged Christians have not.
