ImageRichland Hills Church of Christ (the largest Church of Christ) has introduced instrumental music to its Saturday night worship services. The article is posted on the Christian Chronicle website.

Leroy Garrett has written an essay on changing attitudes in the churches of Christ toward instrumental music. The author also points out a trend in acappella congregations not to use worship style as a test of fellowship. The essay is available at preachermike.com. Thanks to Alan Rouse for pointing out this essay on Christian Unity.

Instrumental Music vs. Vocal only
Written by tecumseh1 on 2006-12-16 06:19:23
Good Grief Brothers and Sisters!!

Why Don't we focus on righteous living instead of this stuff?

Do you honestly believe that either side of the coin makes a difference to God?

Once again as someone who came from outside the RM this seems rather odd.

All those in Christ are in Unity. Even those in Denominations (We're really one too). Unity does not mean we all believe the Bible says exactly the say thing. To be in Christ means to be a true believer with a truly repentant life, and being Sactified more each day into the likeness of. Christ

Quit arguing like little children! I promise you seem very odd to those outside the RM!

Regardless of your position on instrumental music, you gotta admit that the Bible never expressly addresses the issue of the appropriateness of instrumental music in the worship of the church. The Bible does, however, clearly state that
God hates, "a man who stirs up dissension among brothers".(Proverbs 6:19)

Certainly I hope that Dave R.'s comment about dissension is not about my comment about the turmoil concerning music
