Alan Rouse of Christian Unity, reports on two (here and here) great (unrelated) pieces of news. First, 5 of the top 25 multiplying ministries in North America are Independent Christian Churches. Secondly, the Omaha Church of Christ (ICOC) and the Southwest Church of Christ (Mainline) will have a combined service on October 28th. Thanks to Alan for bringing these to everyone's attention.

A brief comment on the Christian Church article. I have been to one of the congregations listed and friends of mine, when looking for a new congregation to attend, also visited there. My friends told me they did not place membership there primarily because,"Praying Jesus into your heart" was the form for salvation. Other literature (here and quoted here) from the Christian Church also states that there is a rift over matters of salvation.

Maybe we can help

Maybe by engaging with these congregations in a constructive and respectful way we can play a role in helping them come to a biblical resolution and conviction on conversion doctrine.
