Good Bible, Bad Opinion
Page 2

This is not to say that we will all read the same scriptures and walk away with the same interpretation. We will have opinions and different angles. However, there is a heart difference between those who would use bad Bible study to prop up their existing opinions and those whose opinions are developed by studying the word. The difference is the former takes his opinion as conviction and the latter is willing (without fear) to reexamine his opinion.

In the Restoration Movement we have “majored in the minors”. Opinions and lesser items have taken a back seat to who God is and how we relate to Him. We have “proven” our rightness brutally without righteousness sometimes. We have used scriptures as ammunition in salvos against our brothers. Is God pleased? Can we have an atmosphere where we share our opinions (and convictions) without using dubious Bible study techniques? I believe we can.
