The Restoration Movement (a.k.a. Stone-Campbell Movement) was started in the 1800s by Thomas and Alexander Campbell and Barton W. Stone. It was an attempt to unify Christians by restoring New Testament practices. There are three main modern streams which have evolved from the 19th century; the churches of Christ, Independent Christian Churches / Churches of Christ and the Disciples of Christ.
