Hey Phil,
Great article. I can relate to every point. For the most part, I think we are overprotective of our people doctrinally. We isolate to protect from differing ideas. Thus, over time we become more and more separate, both physically and doctrinally.

Hi Phil!
I very much enjoyed your article. Coming from a CofC background and now having moved over to the Independent Christian Church I am a large proponent of exploring and restoring unity within the Stone-Campbell Movement. I do not desire the sacrifice of core doctrine for unity, but I believe there is a real need, and possibility, of unity between sections of our heritage. I must confess I do not know much about the ICOC, and wish I knew more, but what I do know is that in most core doctrine areas there is common ground. Maybe it would be good food for thought to consider an article dispelling the misconceptions of the ICOC.
